A few days ago, the biggest topic on the Brazilian internet (and in other parts of the world) was Romero Britto and the surprise of watching one of his works being broken, right before his eyes. For a long time, no one had been able to contact the woman who appears in the images.
A lot was already known about her, the behind-the-scenes story and the reason for her attitude, but no one had managed to get real contact with her. Now that has changed. Madeleyne Sanchez was finally located and spoke about the matter.

Previously, Romero had already spoken out on the matter, stating that the video was from 2017 and denying that he had disrespected employees of the restaurant run by the businesswoman. Sanchez, in turn, supports his version of the facts.
She says that that day, Romero was meeting fans to sign works and take photos, the so-called “meet & greet”. When faced with her crestfallen team and hearing that Britto had been at the restaurant and been rude to them, she then took action.

Four months earlier, she had received the work as a gift from her husband. That day, she picked up the piece and went to the gallery. She says that she had not planned to break the piece in front of the artist, but that she was “indignant” until she took the sudden action.
Madeleyne, who is Venezuelan, confirmed that the case happened in 2017. The video was filmed by a gallery employee who only now decided to publish it, through Tik Tok, reaching millions of views.
Sanchez notices the change after his restaurant became successful. The search for Brazilians has increased, as have the numbers on social media, and she is grateful for the affection she has received.
